Timeless Thoughts: Blogger Bonds

Timeless Thoughts

The past couple of weeks were rather rough. I’d found out my former boss had a stroke, and I’d broken down in tears at work. The political mess in the US left me feeling quite discontent. Then something happened to me yesterday that really upset me. I was going to write about a different topic, but the incident changed my mind. I chose to write about this because it’s quite memorable for me already, and it’s something I know I will remember when I’m older, hence the last-minute change of subject for this month’s Timeless Thoughts entry. Georgie and I co-host this monthly link-up, and I am hosting again for this month. If you would like to participate, you’re more than welcome to join our link-up by submitting your entry with the link-up widget located at the end of this entry! This link-up is opened for two weeks, and your entry can be about anything you find unforgettable from your past or present! It can be an object, an event, a person — anything goes — and you can have more than one thing you miss. For this month, here’s what I’ve been missing lately!

Posting Process

I’ve been blogging since 2001 (holy crap, time flies!). When I’d first started back in high school, I’d simply blogged about what had happened to me that day. I didn’t have any sort of structure or process, but rather I just typed what was on mind. In college and beyond, my blogging output shrank, yet I still blogged about random things, but still without any clear structure or process. My blogging game hit a new low when I was doing my postgraduate programme, but I stepped it back up six months later upon graduation, this time with more structure and with an actual process! It took me a while to fine-tune the process, and I’m finally writing a post about what goes on behind the scenes with Aigoo.me.

With Raisa and Eirene no longer hosting My Favourite Things, I decided to continue with my own monthly favourites post. Starting this month, this new column will be called TC’s Treasures because I’m fond of alliterations, haha! Like My Favourite Things, I’ll be showcasing things I’ve been loving lately. This month’s a hodgepodge. My favourites run from apps to beauty product to video game to food. See my favourites for this month and I’ll be back next month for more TC’s Treasures!

Evernote: A Daily Journal

Evernote: A Daily Journal

Evernote. When it started to become really popular, I decided to check it out and see if it was something I could use. I first registered for it in August 2013, but I discovered that I had no use for it. I’ve read how people use it for different tasks, but I was already using something else for those tasks. A to-do app with a reminder function? I use Todoist. A note keeping app for random titbits and keeping digital scraps? Google Keep does the job perfectly for me. I simply had no use for Evernote. It just sat there for the next couple of years, collecting dust, and then I finally found a use for it.

My Favourite Things: October 2016

My Favourite Things is a precursor to TC’s Treasures. Starting in November 2016, all My Favourite Things posts will be known as TC’s Treasures.

Happy October, everyone! Only three more months left in 2016. Crazy how time flies! I’ve been so busy with many things, but I’m still participating in Raisa and Eirene’s wonderful link-up, My Favourite Things. My favourites this month feature a few new things I’ve been enjoying lately. Unlike last month, it’s not full of skincare!
