TC’s Treasures: August 2017

I am alive, and I’ve returned with a new TC’s Treasures post. Since the last time I wrote this column, I decided to do an overhaul with the way I do this post by creating sub-categories of my favourites I encounter. I’ve broken them down based on type by animes, beauty products, books, food, films, games, mangas, music, and technology — all with alliterative names. This will help keep these columns organised, and if I happen to not have a favourite in that sub-category, then it won’t be on that post. So here are my recent favourites in the new format!

Symphonic Selections: Making the List

Symphonic Selections

With so much going on in the US, with all political chaos, I can’t help but see the correlation of our present to the time of Hitler and the Nazi. Thinking about the similarities made me think about World War II, and that led me to think about Schindler’s List. That was when I had the urge to re-watch the film last night. But before that, I had to think of a song for this month’s Symphonic Selections, and I’d decided on a piece from the film prior to watching it. I almost went for its well-known main theme — all composed by John Williams — but I chose a different piece, one that was featured in what I considered the most powerful moment in the film.

Symphonic Selections: Flight to Neverland

Symphonic Selections

Happy holidays to all my blogger friends and readers! It’s Christmas, and I’m finally feeling the holiday spirit. It’s taken me so long to feel the holiday festivity, but I finally found it when I went to a John Williams’ concert at the Seoul Arts Centre on Friday, December 23rd! In November, I discovered that Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra was going to perform a whole slew of Williams’ film music. I saw that the tickets’ prices were reasonable (70,000 won for the best ones!), so I bought two in the hopes of finding someone to go with me. I did find a friend who was interested, and we went together to this magical concert!

It’s August! There’s only four more months left of 2016 . . . amazing how time flies. Time never stops, so it’s that time of the month to do Raisa and Eirene’s wonderful link-up, My Favourite Things. I discovered a couple of new big things in July, and one of these new discoveries have changed my routine up a bit. Sort of. You’ll see what I mean. Another new thing I’ve discovered also have changed things for me technologically. I didn’t have too many new favourites this month, but these two things are enough for me!

Recent Realities Vol. 1

Recent Realities (Original image from Unsplash.com)

I’ve decided to start up a new column called Recent Realities. This will be a dump post of all my “Life Lately” occurrences. There are times when I want to summarise all my happenings, and I figure this new column will help me. This column will not be as regular compared to my other ones; I’ll just post this when I have a lot to cover. Like right now. Life’s been really kicking my butt lately, and I’m so tired. My summer work schedule is easier than the other seasons, but it’s just way more exhausting. The heat and humidity doesn’t help, either. I am so ready for winter. Aside from work, these are some of my major happenings since I do have a life outside of blogging, haha!
