My Favourite Things is a precursor to TC’s Treasures. Starting in November 2016, all My Favourite Things posts will be known as TC’s Treasures.
Before I continue with this post, I want to wish my fellow bloggers and readers a happy new year! I wish you guys all the best in 2015 :D
Another month, another “My Favourite Things” post :) Warning — this post has been hijacked by The Hobbit.
My Hobbit-y marathon occurred. I watched the extended edition of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, and I watched The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies three times in theatre. Watching these adaptations has pretty much made me a huge fan of Thorin Oakenshield, Fili, and Kili. Men with beards never really did it for me, but these three have convinced me that men with beards are HAWT. *swoons* Oh, and Richard Armitage’s performance of Thorin Oakenshield? Perfect. Just, GUH. I also have a fondness for Bofur, Dwalin, and Nori, but the heirs of Durin are currently making me swoon like a lovesick fool.
Another thing I’ve been obsessed with? Bagginshield, aka Thorin Oakenshield being paired up with Bilbo Baggins romantically. Granted, I’ve liked them since September, but I now really like them after seeing the films. And don’t get me started on the obviousness of this pairing in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Two words: ACORN AND MITHRIL. Oh, and I am also totally digging the other pairings like Bofur/Bilbo, Bofur/Fili, Dwalin/Nori, and so forth so on. :D
Remember my love for Thorin Oakenshield/Richard Armitage above? Well, when I heard him and the company sing this song, I was smittened. Head over heel smittened. I just absolutely adore this song to the point I keep singing it and trying to memorise it to the point one of my friends just starts laughing when this comes in my head and I sing it. Seriously, I haven’t been affected by a song in ages.
Then you have this song. I love this arrangement so much. I love how this piece combines the theme of Erebor and Thorin Oakenshield, and with the choir singing in the background, and remembering the scene this was played in . . . GUH. This piece is just the perfect theme for the heirs of Durin. Just, my mind is completely blown away. Ironic since most of the OST for this trilogy really didn’t do much for me, but this song and the previous song are my absolute favourites.
And that’s my favourite things for this month’s entry. If you really want to know just how obsessed I am with The Hobbit, just go to my Tumblr to just see how crazy I’ve been these past few weeks . . .
