Fourth of July Fun 2010

There’s something really fun about meeting online friends. That’s what I ended up doing for most of this weekend, and it was a fantastic opportunity that I’m glad I didn’t miss!

I ended up meeting Ms Bizarro, who’s here for a teaching stint on Saturday night. We met up at Noksapeyong station, and we had dinner and chilled out at Noxa. Talking to her face to face was so much better than IMing!

Today, I met up with Katy and her boyfriend, Trieu. We met up around Myeong-dong, went to Daehakro for shopping and stuff, went to Dongdaemun for more shopping adventures for Katy, and had dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant in my neighbourhood. Then we chilled at Noxa for a while, and in between that, we viewed the Fourth of July fireworks Yongsan was having! Fun! Really, fun!

I admit that I was feeling mighty nervous meeting them! But it turned out wonderfully. They were all awesome people, and it really was a pleasure to hang out with them.

I can now spend the rest of the night happy :)

  1. Wow! I’ve yet to meet any blogging friends irl. What did you even chat about? I’ve only met my gamer friends and I wasn’t nervous because I know we have very common topics and I had my brother with me (we have mutual gamer friends). It was fun as well. :D

    • We chatted about the ins and outs of Korea, about food, about travelling, and etcetera, etcetera! We managed to talk about a lot of stuff. :)

  2. I haven’t met any of my online blogging buddies but that would interesting. I didn’t know you were meeting up with Katy. I didn’t realize she was stopping by South Korea. Hell, I didn’t realize that she was still in Asia!!

    • Yeah! It was awesome seeing her! I almost would have missed her if I hadn’t seen her Twitter about coming to Korea!

  3. that’s pretty cool
doesnt katy live in vancouver? (where i live)
but those places sounds like they are in korea
im assuming that’s where you live

  4. Caity on

Meeting online friends is super fun. I’ve done it a few times and it always turns out to be amazing! I’m glad you had a fun time!

  5. Oh, that sounds really fun! Meeting online friends in real life can be scary but also really neat! Really lets you forge some great friendships.

  6. Taversia on

Meeting online friends for the first time is always quite the experience. I am SO glad you had a good one!! Good for you!! =]

Also, you’ve changed your layout since I was last here!!! I absolutely LOOOOVVVEE IT!!!! <3<3<3

    • Thanks! I’m glad you love it! And you’re right in that it is an experience to meet online friends! XD

  7. ouahh so cool! it’s weird to think I never really hang out with her despite how close we are.. yet you guys are hanging out despite living on separate continents :D when I’m in Korean I know who to look for! :D

    • I know! I asked Katy if you two met considering how you both live in Vancouver, but I was really surprised that you guys hadn’t, LOL. Oh well! Go meet up! You’ve a much better chance than I do, anyway! ^^

Also, if you come to Korea, let me know! I”ll be happy to show you around! <3
