Fifth Anniversary, New Look

This post is old, so what you see here may not reflect my current opinion and mindset, certain information may be outdated, and links may be broken.

On March 2005, I had decided to start up a music rotation site — called Capriccio — because I wanted to spread my interesting choice of music to a lot of people. When it comes to music, there are a lot of songs I’ve heard in my life, but I would never know the names of the songs! I know there are plenty of people like me out there, so when I started to put up songs that are commonly heard with obscure titles and composers, I’ve had plenty of people thank me for solving that mystery for them. A lot of these songs are instrumentals, and I’m always pleased to know there are people who still likes them instead of only liking those popular mainstream songs.

Now, five years later, I still try to do that and introduce people the beauty of instrumentals and classical music. I throw in oldies and Jazz. I select Asian musics that have caught my interest. I just try to post up an eclectic bunch of songs that I think need more loving and exposure. To me, Capriccio is a fun little project I’ve dedicated myself to for half a decade. Five years is quite a long time, even if the years have practically flown by.

When I started this site five years ago, I didn’t really imagine to last this long. Most of my previous websites would die a fairly quick death in a year or less at times, yet not good ol’ Capriccio. For its fifth anniversary, I decided to put up a new layout (a layout similar to the other new layouts I’ve put up because I like that simple style!) and put up a special rotation. I am not quite sure what the future holds for me, but if I can keep Capriccio up and running for another five years, I’ll be happy.

Happy Birthday, Capriccio. Thanks for being a constant steady project for me over the years. :)

  1. Happy Birthday to your music site! I like the new layout you made. It looks great!

  2. Wow I didn’t know your site been around for 5 years! Well I’m very thankful for the years it’s been. It has openning my ears to music I never heard before. Thank you!
Plus cool nice new layout. =D

  3. Happy Birthday Capriccio! Thanks for introducing me to all these new songs. :)

  4. Wow! Congratulations on 5 years! The only sites (other than my blog) that I’ve kept for ~5 years are my fanlistings, and that’s only because there’s TFL to police them. XD

  5. Happy birthday to Capriccio. 5 years is a long time and its a great site. I like the idea of having a music related site and seeing the word instrumental has made me bookmark the site :D I love learning about music especially instrumental, no matter how tired I get of songs, instrumental music is something I can just never get tired of.

There’s so much music out there and its great to be able to exchange and share knowledge of songs and artists. Here’s to hoping that the site continues on for years to come :)

  6. Happy birthday to Capriccio! Five years is definitely a long time. When my old website Out The Window went for five years before I got my domain, I think the five years went by so slowly. It’s nice to mark this special birthday with a new layout! :)

If you manage it for another five years, that’ll be a wondrous ten years! :D

  7. 5 years is such a long time and i’m amazed that you’re able to maintain it :) Congrats on the new look and i’m hoping for more years for it and your blog :)

  8. Wow… that’s a cool little project. Does it eat up a lot of bandwidth?

  9. wow five years! that is a big accomplishment… I don’t think I’ve ever kept anything for that long.. my blog always changes :P and nothing else has lasted that long for me xD
